God and Call Centre Executive

Do you know what is the role of a call centre executive.................he receives call and tries to solve all the customer queries. Have you ever imagined what role does god play. He recieves all the requests and keeps processing. He sorts out all the requests based on what is right and what is wrong then as the banker it will check whether your account will take credit or debit and accordingly it will give you. Tirelessly he would keep on doing the work and would never complain nor does he say that his shift is over. I know we are humans and not god but I would like to draw one point over here and that is can we not try. If we can try then I am sure we will atleast increase our productivity by 50% if not more. I have seen some amazing results when I myself have done that.

I am not a management Guru nor I am a spiritual one but I love to draw synergies. Synergies between two things and then come up with a third one. Thats how life moves and thats how we do.

Google faces Competition from Local Vendors

Google has a new competitor who is using his logo. I am not talking about Yahoo or MSN but someone who is far smaller. That same color combination. I was shocked when I saw the picture. It happened when I was shopping in one of the markets in Bandra. I saw a Golawala or sharbat wala. Just for the information of those who do not understand "Golawala" Gola is a kind of refreshment which is made of ice and topped with flavored syrups. It is called Golawala in India or sharbatwala. It looked like an ordinary sharbatwala untill I saw the name on the signboard it was written "Gogola" with the color combination of that of GOOGLE (red, blue and yellow). The pictures above will clearly represent what I am referring to. This creative is not the product of any top level advertising agency but it is created by someone who does not even know what Google stands. When I asked the vendor what prompted him to keep this name and all he said was that this idea came from his 15 year old son who studies in school and he created this. He himself does not know what this stands for. If you note there are two generations involved, one who does not even know what it stands for and the other one has probably learnt from school. The point I am trying to make here is Google has become such a common name and the brand is so powerful that it can be used innovatively to sell products. He added that people have asked him and have bought his product because of the name under which he is selling. When I told him what Google is he said "Hame kya karna hai saab.........Hamara maal bikna chahiye. Agar iss naam se bikta hai to yahee sahee".So now we know how powerful can the name Google be and its implications at the very ground level.

Happy Independence day or Happy In - dependence day

Tommorow we celebrate our 61st Glorious year of Independence or should we rather say In - dependence. I know this is bad news but wake wake up we have to confront whether like it or not. We are in - dependence of politicians who are driving our nations car. They do not have their own insurance but claim to insure or rather ensure our nation. Forget about politicians as they are one amongst us only. But look at ourselves our life is so much dependent on others. At the infant stage we are dependent on our parents for our food and nurture, when we are young we are dependent on our teachers and gurus for preparing us for the future. In our middle ages we are dependent on our bosses and at home on our spouses for helping us walk the path and towards the end of our lives we are dependent on our children. So at every stage we are dependent on others then how can we celebrate "Independence". Gandhiji and other prominent leaders provided us freedom from external threats. For them freedom from the Brithishers was just one of the many freedoms that they wanted to achieve. Their goal was to create a place free from all threats and where human beings are not dependent on others because that does not constitute our independence. We are still ruled by politicians and bureaucrats. They are our ringmasters and can mould us the way they can. Look at the situation in Jammu and Kashmir where we are fighting for something so ridiculous. We have got our freedom from external threats but what about the conditions prevailing in our own country which is crippling our growth. Who is hearing our plea These politicians naah they are busy appearing in either television shows or social parties or are either busy shouting in the parliament to gain media attention. I vividly remember one of the movies called "Nayak" starring Anil kapoor who plays the role of a media executive going on to become CM for one day and created magic in administration. I have not seen that kind of movie hence. May be that kind of situation can be seen in movies only. We need something like this and for that we will have to realise our own duties. Let us pledge and promise ourselves that we will not celebrate In - Dependence day but Independence day which we can say in one breath.

Mobile the next destination

Mobile phones and its multi faceted uses may sound to be a very common subject and you might think what is it that I am going to add value to the information that you already have. Many of us who use mobile phones are only aware of the messaging, incoming and outgoing facility which is available on the phone. These functions suffice the purpose well. On the other hand advertiser views this as an excellent opportunity for him to create a buzz or interactivity with its future prospect. I am using the word prospect and not customer because the person may or may not purchase the product. Just to share some information with my readers recently a survey conducted by Nielson Group concluded that on an average a mobile user between the age group of 18 - 30 years spend approximately 3 hours on his mobile device which is mostly dominated by receiving and making calls followed by SMS and other stuff. Please note that this is a big number. The survey was conducted across users using mobile devices ranging from the normal range to higher end phones which includes GPRS and WAP.

Mobile phones have commonly been perceived as a communication tool used for receiving and making calls apart from sending sms to friends and relatives but after a first move by some players like Mauj and Indiatimes who saw a very big potential of using the mobile as a platform for advertisers to market their products/services we have seen a lot many companies entering the arena and a lot more advertisers using the media to market their products. Today advertisers are looking at the media very strongly and the reasons are pretty clear, It is the only media which is very personalized as most of the times you will carry your mobile phones with you. Secondly it is highly non intrusive which makes it very viable. This is a very rare combination. Thirdly you get the leverage of content and image based advertising for your products/services. Imagine 160 characters of pure content and with some more advancement you can send. Also you can make the customer react to the product offered and can be intrigued with more questions about the product and services which may be of your help to create innovative products in future. So not only are you creating a buzz about your product but at the same time you are also creating an interactive platform for him to provide his opinion which has become very important for advertisers and companies to stay connected. Take this example of Sprite campaign making the buzz about their selling Talktime to whomever smses the code. With this sprite is inducing its drinkers to avail for free talktime taking into consideration that all the sprite consumers would be having a mobile phone and would respond immediately. A call to action is what sprite intended from the campaign and that was acquired. Also they had a WAP based application which can be downloaded on a WAP enabled phone which facilitates for the download of its ringtones and wallpaper applications. Also they had a pretty website which was also used as a medium to market the product. The only concern could have been that they targeted the prepaid users whereas the metro crowd which is working is a postpaid user so where is the benefit for them. This example is for you to understand the power of using the mobile as a platform to market the product in an innovative way and create an immediate sales and thereby immediate action which is the asset. When I mention asset I mean the database collected is the asset that they may use in future for their other products and services. One of the biggest factors when you use this medium is that there is measurability of your ad spends on various mediums and you can integrate the same across other mediums fairly easily. For example the Samsung campaign which now uses short code for nearest dealer information instead of physical addresses on their print campaigns which saves a certain cost on additional prints. Also customization is the key, based on different marketing objectives the advertisers can customize and create innovative mediums to generate database for them to use in future. Also the cost over here is very less as compared to traditional media which involves a huge cost

But owing to all the benefits involved there are certain reservations when it comes to using the medium. Advertisers in India are still of the opinion that traditional media is very powerful. This has a lot to do with DoT and TRAI norms in India which does not go well with the operators and provide certain restrictions. New age Mobile Marketing companies like Nuevo Telesoft comes with a powerful product called www.paisa4sms.com which has opted in database of users. These users have agreed to share with us information and have permitted us to send them ads on their mobile devices for which they are paid. This makes a deadly combination. Advertisers can target users based on his needs. Also the promoters Vinay Bhartia and Ravi Shroff have studied the market thoroughly well. In their words “Today the market is moving towards a newer medium which is the Mobile and the Internet. Marketing managers are looking out for mass reach and lower cost which I think mobile can truly suffice. They have also taken into account the market need and can cater all the mobile related services such as short code and log codes”. Vinay Bhartia who looks after the technology and sales says that advertisers can come to us with their marketing objectives and we can design a customized solutions along with our off the shelf products. This would serve as our USP. In order to reach to other advertisers in the country Nuevo Telesoft has tied up with Primetime International as one of the partners. Primetime International has been serving as a media concessionaire for SONY TV for International Markets and also have radio and OOH as their other business lines. Recently they have started with New media Initiatives headed by Jenish Shah and this is the first move in entering the segment. Speaking to us Jenish said that, “We were present in the TV, Radio and OOH. There was a need to move ourselves into the new Media such as Mobile and Internet for which we were looking our for partners and fortunately we got in touch with Nuevo Telesoft for Mobile which we found to be very suitable for us where they have already developed certain products and we need to just sell them in the market”.

ecoIron - All these whirring boxes.: Black Google Would Save 750 Megawatt-hours a Year

As noted, an all white web page uses about 74 watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59 watts. I thought I would do a little math and see what could be saved by moving a high volume site to the black format.

Take at look at Google, who gets about 200 million queries a day. Let's assume each query is displayed for about 10 seconds; that means Google is running for about 550,000 hours every day on some desktop. Assuming that users run Google in full screen mode, the shift to a black background [on a CRT monitor! mjo] will save a total of 15 (74-59) watts. That turns into a global savings of 8.3 Megawatt-hours per day, or about 3000 Megawatt-hours a year. Now take into account that about 25 percent of the monitors in the world are CRTs, and at 10 cents a kilowatt-hour, that's $75,000, a goodly amount of energy and dollars for changing a few color codes.

Internet Marketing the best source of targeted traffic

Internet marketing is not overly complicated but it is also not a process in which anyone can excel without making attempts to learn more about the subject. Business owners who do not know a great deal about Internet marketing but who wish to implement Internet marketing into their overall marketing strategy should carefully study the basic principles of Internet marketing before launching their online marketing campaign. Fortunately for these business owners there are a variety of options for learning about Internet marketing. These options may include online research, reading published books and studying successful Internet marketing campaigns.

Researching Internet marketing online is one method which can be used for learning more about this topic. This type of research can be very informative and can provide the business owner with a great deal of advice and other information. However, it can also provide the business owner with a great deal of misinformation. When researching any subject online it is very important to note that not all of the information available online is accurate. This may be due to a variety of factors including content which is written by those who do not have a great deal of knowledge about the subject matter as well as content which was written years ago and is outdated. This can be frustrating but fortunately business owners can still learn from the Internet. This just means they should be more cautious about accepting information as being accurate and may wish to verify the information they obtain before implementing an Internet marketing strategy.

Published books are another valuable resource for learning more about Internet marketing. There are a variety of books available which focus on this subject and provide a wealth of useful information. When selecting a book for use as research material it is important to seek out a book which received independent reviews which were positive. It is also important to seek out books which were published recently. This is important because the Internet marketing industry is evolving continuously and a book that was published only a few years ago may be outdated and may lack information on some of the new developments in the industry. The appeal of using published books to learn about Internet marketing is you can keep the books on hand for easy reference when you launch your Internet marketing campaign.

Finally business owners can learn a great deal about Internet marketing simply by studying successful Internet marketing campaigns. Try the Internet marketing blog at www.jeremyburns.com/blog for some great starter tipe. If your business offers products and services in a particular niche consider entering relevant terms in popular search engines and studying the websites of some of the highest ranking businesses. This can provide you with a great deal of insight into what these business owners are doing which may be contributing to their success. Examining everything from their website design to their search engine optimization strategies and even the content on their website can help you to determine why they are more successful than you. You should also consider how they are marketing their website which may include banner ads, affiliate marketing programs or other types of advertising. Armed with this information you can take the opportunity to implement changes to your own website and marketing strategy which may help you to gain a greater degree of success. Care should be taken to not copy anything directly from your competitors but to rather try to emulate their degree of success in your own way.

Internet Marketing a boon for business

Just like there are no magic weight loss cures or ways to earn money from home without a great deal of effort, there is no one simple solution to guarantee Internet marketing success. However, Internet marketing is not overly complicated and many business owners can enjoy some degree of Internet marketing success with only limited knowledge about the industry. This post aims to discuss these methods which will help you to get the best possible outcome from the market.

Additionally, some message boards may even allow users to post links in the body of the message. This gives the business owner the opportunity to offer his link in response to questions and comments when doing so is relevant and offers something of value to the online conversation. However, care should be taken to carefully review the terms of service and all guidelines on the message board before posting links to ensure this is not a violation of the policies of the message board. Failure to adhere to message board policies may result in removal from the message board or the posts being viewed as spam by other users.

Another simple, but effective, Internet marketing strategy is to hire a consulting firm with search engine optimization (SEO) experience to assist you in achieving high search engine rankings. While the concept of SEO can be rather complex and understanding the most effective strategies and how to properly implement them may take years of experience as well as continual education, the ability to hire a qualified SEO firm is as simple as knowing how to interview candidates and select the most qualified one. Handling your own SEO efforts can be rather difficult but hiring another firm to take care of this for you is not only easy but it can have a significant impact on your website traffic because high search engine rankings typically translate to improved web traffic. This is because Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant websites first and typically only visit the best ranking websites when they search for a particular term.

Similarly another simple way to enjoy Internet marketing success is to hire a consulting firm to plan and execute your Internet marketing strategy. Just like SEO, Internet marketing is essentially a full time job. Business owners may have a great deal of difficulty trying to run their business and organize their Internet marketing. Outsourcing this work eases the burden on the business manager and will likely produce more favorable results.

Link Building, Page Rank and its various facets in SEO activities.

We place huge importance for a link back from .gov and .edu sites because we believe that they are education and government related authority so their reference is taken to be the highest authority when it comes down to link value and search engines like Google and Yahoo places high authority on this. But apart from the title that they have obtained have you have ever wondered how these websites have got such a high Page Rank. Let us take an example of USA Government website http://www.usa.gov which is a perfect PR 10 website but how do you think is the site a perfect PR 10 which is only given to sites like Google and Adobe. I have read that a PR is determined on the kind of back links a particular site gets. So if you are getting links from a .gov site then it is placed a higher value then any other site this is what I have read across most of the blogs and posts. But similarly when we check sites like Google and Adobe. When I check their back links they have lesser number of .gov and .edu sites, which we really give importance to. So what I would like to convey is that it is not always necessary that we have links from an edu and gov sites no doubt the importance that is placed when we receive a .edu,.gov or .org site can provide but that may not be the only factor to get your page a high PR that is if you want to have a PR 6 and above. A .gov or.edu in your back links will have a high relevancy and will have a strong case for the site not to be banned from Search Engines else you have already seen how top sites were penalized in the last Google PR update. I am also happy that now we shall be able to report paid links to Google. There were people who would splurge in millions and millions of dollars and buy links from .gov and .edu sites in order to rank top in Google search results and now you shall be penalized for that. This article is not to discourage users from linking other sites but my objective of writing this article is to point out the fact that it is just not important that we get .gov and .edu sites but it is really very important that we have quality back links and that can happen when we participate in forums and write quality articles and make sure that our website have enough content for other websites to link back to us.

As experts in the industry say that a good linking strategy is very crucial for websites success in Search Engines and for that it is very important that we socially participate in discussions, provide quality content to spiders and induce others to link back to us. Companies hire specialist link builders to generate relevant back links for your websites and they may indulge into link building through reciprocal and three way link building. Initially this might help but what about the long run. Google seems to be smarter then some of the individuals. Though being a machine we may not be able to manipulate results like we do in excel and words. It is checking each and every action of ours. Generally what these link builders do is that they have a good network of other link builders and then they exchange links for other links. A PR site for PR site is what they do. They may not even check the category in which the links are being placed. I have seen this happen with one of my sites. I had assigned the job to a link builder when I was in my initial days of SEO. In the very first month I had somewhere around 75 back links that was sought of great and I was thrilled as I had read somewhere that more the number of back links better the rankings. I did not check the quality and what they meant for my site’s ranking. It happened like this for a couple of months and then I started to see a decline in the results of my site the PR dropped from 5 to 3. I hired an extra individual who can provide me with good PR sites as I thought it must be due to a Google PR update and also bought links worth some 100 dollars from some high PR sites. Sooner did I found that the PR had dropped from 3 to 0 that is when I started to find out the reason for this and to my surprise it was because of high number of links that we had obtained through link builders. They had brought links from link farms and doorway pages as these pages were of High PR and when Google filtered this out my website was also penalized for that. I threw a lot of emails to webmasters and resubmitted sitemap and did the other on page optimization but to no avail. That is when I read on one of the posts about the Bad linking strategies and what are the do ‘s and don’t for linking and that is where I read that how these link builders choose bad quality links as the only parameter for them is PR and the moment they see a high PR site they will jump upon to catch a link on that which is bad. A good strategy is what I mentioned in the earlier part of my article Quality Content and making sure that you are being discussed on the web. My article does not aim to target link builders but it aims to educate them and what are the do’s and don’ts of link building.

I hope my article provides an ample light to those people who want to get their sites to rank top on Search Engines with some White hat SEO practices but still your comments are what I am looking for.

Pay Per Click Market in India

PPC as it is referred to as by most of the internet marketers and surfers across the world is an abbrevation of Pay per Click. Around 2 decades ago when there was no internet or should I say there were no computers people used to work and get buyers going around the globe. But today we have all kind of people coming and buying . The markets at that time were limited to a small region so far as to where the transport was available and where people can go.

But 2007 and we have everything at the click away but how good has the penetration of Google been in India. India is now 4th in terms of Internet users. The growing popularity of cybercafes has been playing a big role in fueling Internet development in India. The Internet population is expected to grow to 100 million by end 2007. This are the figures from a third source that I have mentioned today. There are reports that Google plans to pump n money in India as now they understand the hidden capabilities of India as a potential market for growing internet marketing. reports are ripe that google has invested in a company in delhi. This is a positive sign for Iindia and the development in the technical fronts. Previously india was looked as a Outsourcing partner where big companies would outsource their process to India as labour is cheap. But such more deals across the country can help build the technical front also.

I drifted from my topic so I was discussing the importance of PPC and Pay per click in India. As a source of getting quick and cheap traffic as opposed to OOH (outdoor Advertising) people have started investing money in Google. the kind of inventor Google and other major search engines providing are worth noticing. Professionals are roped in to get to do the work of getting the sites ranked in Search Engines called Search Engine Marketing managers.

Indian spends only 3 hours per month on internet. On an average 89% of those who use internet are using it for emailing, 86% regularly read blogs, 57% send e-cards through internet and 53% look for jobs online. But this demographic hs changed and now unlike Western countries where there is 100% internet penetration we have close to about 70 % people accessing the internet in cities for their personal or professional use. Mostly they are office goers.

I feel that the internet market has penetrated to a fair extent to make money online for internet users and have brought this world closer in terms of search

My Blog Ranks on Google for "PPC Expert India"

Blogging Rocks!!

I started my Blog on PPC (pay per click) 15 days back & I am ranking on 1st page for searched term "PPC Expert India" on google.com, I know its not very competitive keyword but to rank for any secondary level keyword is just 15 days should be considered as smart SEO :)

Want your Blog to rank top? This is what I did!
1. Create a Blog!
2. Keep posting
3. Submit your blog detail to free directories

Yes thats it! Dont forget the key "keep posting", the more you post the better chance for your blog to get ranked. Not to forget do not target Generic Keywords or else it would take ages to rank.

For me the primary keyword is PPC India & PPC Expert but this would pull lot of time to rank hence I decided to optimize for a secondary level keyword that is "PPC Expert India". No doubt long term objective is to rank for my primary keywords.

Cheers
Keep Blogging!
